Using the AI prompt tool

Smart Approval includes an AI prompt helper in the criteria subform. Instead of manually constructing complex rules, users can describe desired behavior in plain language and let the tool generate structured criteria.

The AI will return one or more suggested criteria objects. The author recommends:

  • Review and tune generated criteria before saving.
  • Prefer specific criteria to avoid false positives.
  • You can generate multiple criteria with a single prompt and then disable or refine suggestions you don't want.

Generated criteria lifecycle

  • Generated criteria are suggestions and must be enabled by the user.
  • Users should update prompt text to make results less generic (customize response messages and thresholds).
  • Save changes and run tests to confirm expected behavior.
