Purchase and Setup
1. Purchase on AppSource
Find Smart Import for Excel on AppSource and click Get it now.
Sign in with your M365 admin account, select the plan and number of seats, then complete the purchase.
Free trial available — you can cancel within the trial period at no charge.
2. Assign licenses to users
In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
- Go to Billing > Licenses.
- Open Smart Import for Excel > Assign licenses.
- Select each user and click Assign.
Warning
Every user who needs access must have a license assigned individually.
3. Install the app in Business Central
- Open admin.businesscentral.dynamics.com and select your environment.
- Go to Apps > Find and install apps.
- Search for Smart Import for Excel and install it.
4. Sync users from M365 into Business Central
- In BC, open the Users page.
- Click Update users from Microsoft 365 in the ribbon and wait for it to complete.
Warning
Without the sync, BC won't recognize the license even if M365 shows it as assigned.
5. Sign in
Have the user close and reopen Business Central. Smart Import is ready to use.
