Initial Setup

  • Open the Smart Approval page in Business Central.
  • Select the document types to enable Smart Approval for (Sales, Purchase, etc.).
  • Configure approval criteria and approver assignment (direct, specific, user group).
  • Enable or disable Smart Approval workflows for each document type.

Workflow Integration

  • Smart Approval integrates with standard BC workflows.
  • You can enable or disable Smart Approval for each workflow via the setup page.
  • Approval requests are created automatically based on configured criteria.

User Groups and Approvers

  • Assign approvers directly, specifically, or via user groups.
  • Use the Workflow User Group and User Setup pages to manage approvers.
